Symi island

Simi is a unique island with rare architectural tradition and therefore was declared as a conservation village. The main port on the east side of the island is located in a quiet bay surrounded by hundreds of homes with mediterranean colours like indigo, ochre and terracotta, which are living the impression of calmness versus the rugged and imposing cliffs of the island. At the entrance of the harbour there is the impressive clock tower.

Aliki Hotel was built in 1895 and initially belonged to Vangelitsa daughter of George Petrides, a rich captain and benefactor of Symi and then given as a dowry to her daughter, Fotini I. Gennimata, mother of the memorable politician George Gennimata. The name of the great politician has given to the shore where the hotel is located
